found in CFFN250S's reviews: I love all new tools - All new tools are great, but this tool is just good to look at! Well written instructions, which bad directions are a real pet peeve. I own several PC tools and you will never go wrong! This is an incredible value if you do a lot of finish work. The compressor probably isn't that good for other types of use, though. I've researched this tool quite a bit at different stores and everybody likes this rig. This is a good value and a great tool. Great Value - The compressor is light enough to move easily, but stays in place unless the floor has some kind of gloss finish. But other than that it's a wonderful tool and a great value.
One Year Warranty Supports use of all brad and finish nailers and moderate use of framing and roofing nailers High-flow regulator allows more work at higher pressures 3 hp induction motor for quieter operation High-pressure technology provides more usable air for longer run time
found in CPF23400P's reviews: Maybe a good compressor, but beware of shipping - I ordered my P-C 3HP/4GAL compressor from Amazon, and their tool supplier, Tool Crib, shipped the unit to me via UPS. When I unpacked the compressor there was a broken piece of plastic in the bottom of the box.
I took the compressor to the local Porter-Cable service center and they tell me the boxes the P-C compressors come in are NOT designed to handle the rigorous treatment of UPS shipping. The compressor is very heavy and the support inside the box is just flimsy cardboard, so the unit will shift alot during UPS shipment.
Be advised about this shipping problem with this compressor. Tool Crib should know better than to ship these heavy units in flimsy boxes! Luckily the local Porter-Cable service center is willing to fix it under warranty!. Great machine - 8 Oct 02
I read every review I can find on a tool before buying and did so in this case. The problem was, there were a couple `for' and a couple `against' this compressor which didn't help in the decision process (usually there's enough positive or negative comments to aid in making a decision). If you want to ensure you don't have this problem, buy a compressor with a cage around it. Heck what do you want from a COMPRESSOR!
- Plenty of air to shoot my 15ga nails and recovery time on the tank is VERY quick.
One-year warranty Rugged cast-iron cylinder Performs at above average working pressures Delivers 3.6 cfm at 125 psi Powerful 2 hp electric motor
found in AM780-HC4V's reviews: Great But ... - I have several compressors, but since this is light and runs on 15 am circuits it is the preference for small volume needs such as small nail guns, tires and especially jobs where transporting the compressor is required. Example, a framer and helper will easily outrun the production capability of the compressor with one gun. On a hot day with poor air circulation the motor start capacitor blew. Since this was the only issue with the tool I decided it made sense to repair. My standard motor repair shop wouldn't touch it. The Emglo repair center wanted an exhorbitant amount for the capacitor ($$). The time I spent calling around and shopping for the replacement part far exceeded the value of simply replacing the compressor unit.
Starts easily under low voltage conditions Built-in thermal overload protection for added safety Dynamically balanced counterweight crankshaft design for reduced vibration Durable cast aluminum components for lighter weight and faster heat dissipation Designed especially for finish work
found in MAC500's reviews: A great portable for small jobs - It keeps up fine for this type of work and is not designed for high volume usage (spray painting, sandblasting, etc) As a blow tool for clearing sawdust in the shop, it struggles to keep up.
Even with these drawbacks its a great little compressor for finish carpentry.
One Year Warranty Convenient control panel has regulator, gauge, and two quick connect outlets Higher tank pressure provides more usable air per tank re-charge New high-pressure design keeps tank pressure between 110 and 135 PSI 3 HP induction motor delivers 7.7 SCFM at 40 PSI, 5.5 SCFM at 90 PSI
found in CPF23400S's reviews: Fantastic Compressor - I do crafts and wanted a compressor to replace my old one when it died. I preferred to have one that would also work an impact tool. I was told by others that none of these smaller compressors would do that. I decided to try an impact tool. No problem ! ! ! I could get most of the nuts off of one tire before the compressor would come on again. Perhaps this compressor wouldn't do for a mechanic, but for someone who changes their own tires, it does just fine. It is noisy, but I don't think any more so than any other compressor. A powerful ,compact compressor/reasonably priced!!! - I purchased this compressor for my crew of six men after I read the other reviews on the tool crib website. I am very impressed with the capabilities of this lightweight/powerful and relatively inexpensive compressor. As with all Porter Cable tools it is well designed, strongly constructed and built to LAST !! I especially like the two built in quick connects and the power to run two framing nailers at once from a small and easily transportable package. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a powerful, compact and one man transportable compressor. Great for various airtools - It is essential that you change pressure for various tool you are using.
Size of the tank is fine, but its really about the horsepower of the motor and amount of air motor can put out so that you don't have long period of motor running in order to build a pressure in the tank. This Portable Compressor is Rugged and Well Built ! - Surprised and impressed! I looked at Home Depot and Lowes and decided to order this aircompressor to save the Tax and the trouble of bring it home.
Looking at the other brands of portable compressors I really like how well this one is built.
I expect to be using this tool for years to come. Better than the pancake model - I've used the smaller Porter-Cable pancake compressor for about 2 years. The only thing I don't think is an improvement is the knob for adjusting air pressure.
This time I installed the compressor with the air hose reel from Amazon mounted right beside it on the floor. If you get the reel, you'll probably need to make a trip to the local hardware store for an interconnecting piece to connect the reel to the compressor.
I'm really happy with this tool -- its quiet operation (well, relative to the other one), short run time, and it stows out of the way in the same space I had the smaller one in. Plenty of Power to Offer...but it needs plenty, too. - I tried the compressor on an undedicated 15 amp circuit, and it immediately blew the switch every time. I also learned (the hard way, of course) that if you are using the compressor with a 50' extension chord (with too high a guage) on a 20 amp circuit, the pump will not get enough electricity to pump air after cutting-in when the tank pressure drops to 110 psi (the specified cut-in pressure) - the pump will start pumping, but quickly stop and you'll hear the motor straining until it blows the 20 amp circuit, too. It's cheaper, my new Porter Cable friends say, to buy more air hose than the right gauge extention chord - Ah, such knowledge I'm gaining. Sadly, the compressor arrived with an air intake filter housing badly bent downward (done apparently at the factory, as the box from Amazon wasn't damaged), so I couldn't remove the air filter. AND, the drain valve (to drain water from the bottom of the tank) would not completely close allowing lots of air to excape from the tank. In my chats with an Amazon tool sales rep, and later with a Porter Cable tech rep (to help me unravel the compressor's electrical-needs mysteries), both Companies quickly and nicely insisted on sending me a new air intake filter housing and a new drain valve (I guess I'm getting two of each?) - no questions asked. The machine is fairly loud, but it only takes my pump about 6 seconds to refill the tanks from the 110 psi cut-in pressure to the specified 135 psi cut-out pressure. I figure the noise level goes hand-in-hand with the added power this compressor offers - power I think I need. Suggestions: the manufacturer needs to tighten quality controls inspection of the product prior to boxing & shipping, and the editorial reviewers need to "call a spade a spade" in write-ups on this tool's power needs.
One-year warranty Provides 8.6 SCFM at 40 PSI and 6.8 SCFM at 90 PSI High-flow regulator for more efficient operation of pneumatic tools Tank pressure is maintained between 110 and 135 PSI for more usable air High-pressure technology provides the equivalent of a 32-gallon air supply
found in CPL6025's reviews: Great Compressor!! - I use this compressor in a wood shop and it provides enough air pressure for all my needs. The output pressure valve is convenient and easy to use so you don't have to spend a lot of time trying to set the proper air pressure for the tool you are using. All in all, this is a great compressor that can handle a large variety of jobs.
Cast iron cylinder enhances pump life Dual soft start valves assists in cold weather start up 4 CFM delivered at 90 psi, provides rapid recovery Easy access panel with two universal couplers improves user access Factory reconditioned to perform like new!
found in D55152R's reviews: DeWalt Compressor - This was the first reconditioned power tool that I have ever purchased. The compressor charges the storage tank to capacity in short order and has no leaks. This is a very nice tool for portable use and light enough to carry around to air up your tires.
One-year warranty Provides 8.3 SCFM at 40 PSI and 5.8 SCFM at 90 PSI High-flow regulator for more efficient operation of pneumatic tools Tank pressure is maintained between 110 and 135 PSI for more usable air High-pressure technology provides the equivalent of a 32-gallon air supply
found in CPF6025VP's reviews: Last Porter Cable Tool I Purchase - So, this time I ordered this one from Tool Crib. So, I ended up driving to the nearest town today to buy a new compressor of a different brand. What do I expect you might ask? I expect them to let me take the brand new thing to any near by place that can fix it and have the bill sent to them! I have purchased a lot of Porter Cable tools while building this house but that compressor was the last one!.
